Looking for an Audi S5 salvage car?

Under the S5 name, Audi has delivered coupés, cabriolets and Sportbacks over almost twenty years, and by now saloons and Avants as well. Whichever you are after, this page shows what the car dealers, traders and dismantling companies in our network currently have on offer with damage, in the Netherlands and abroad. That saves you trawling separate used car sites. Filter by year of manufacture, body style or type of damage and then contact the seller yourself.

Which Audi S5 salvage cars might you come across with us?

What is listed here depends on what our partners buy in and changes daily. The S5 arrived on the market in 2007 and has been completely reworked twice since, with the engine changing each time. Those generational differences determine what a salvage car is worth and how easily you can source parts.

Audi S5 B8 with V8 and supercharger (2007-2016)

The first S5 came as a coupé with a naturally aspirated 4.2 V8 of 354 hp. From 2009 the Sportback and the Cabriolet appeared, with a supercharged 3.0 V6 of 333 hp; the coupé later received the same engine.

Among enthusiasts the V8 version is the most sought after and holds its value well. With this generation, check the timing system and ask for the service invoices.

With this generation, also look at the condition of the power steering and the cooling system. Those are the points on which a V8 that looks tidy at first glance can still turn into an expensive project.

Audi S5 B9 with 3.0 TFSI turbo (2016-2024)

The second generation received a turbocharged 3.0 TFSI with 354 hp and an eight-speed automatic. Audi again offered it as a coupé, Sportback and Cabriolet, and in Europe for a short time also as the S5 TDI with a six-cylinder diesel and an electric compressor.

These examples currently make up the largest part of the stock. Pay attention to the matrix headlights and the adjustable suspension, because they account for a good part of the bill when there is damage.

Audi S5 from 2025 as a saloon and Avant

With the latest generation, Audi changed around the naming: the S5 replaces the S4 and is now available as a saloon and as an Avant. Under the bonnet sits a 3.0 TFSI V6 with 367 hp, supported by a 48-volt mild hybrid system.

These cars have only been on the road for a short time and therefore rarely turn up as damaged vehicles. If one does appear, it is usually minor collision damage at low mileage.

What should you look out for with a damaged Audi S5?

A fast coupé with quattro drive calls for a different assessment from an ordinary A5. Four points show whether you are landing a bargain or a costly liability.

The drivetrain and servicing

For every generation, check whether the engine and gearbox are original and whether the servicing has been kept up. With the V8 and the supercharged V6, a lot depends on the timing system and on regular oil changes.

Ask for the service history, therefore. With these engines, a documented history determines a large part of what the car is still worth.

The cabriolet and the roof

With the Cabriolet there is one more point to watch. The fabric roof, the mechanism and the seals are expensive, and a rear-end collision can distort the roof or its stowage space. Ask for photos of the roof both open and closed. Through our platform you can get a replacement roof mechanism from a salvage vehicle at a fraction of the price new.

Also ask whether the roof moves through its full cycle in both directions. A mechanism that stops halfway points to worn hydraulics or damage to the guides.

A total loss does not mean beyond repair

The designation refers to a calculation by the insurer: repairing costs more than the car’s market value at the time of the loss. With S-specific parts such as bumpers, headlights and wheels, that bill soon mounts up, while the mechanicals are often still perfectly sound.

Assess for each car whether repair is worthwhile or whether the value lies more in the components: the engine, the automatic, the quattro drivetrain, the headlights or the complete interior.

Damage history, registration and export

Start with the chassis number; that is how you uncover the damage history. Also request the inspection reports from the insurer or a recognised repairer and, for an older generation, the invoices for major servicing. A complete file makes re-registration and export to Germany, Belgium or Poland considerably easier.

Finally, check that the vehicle registration database shows no block on the car.

Reliable dealers for a worry-free purchase

You want to know beforehand who is selling the car. That is why access to our platform is given only to recognised dealers who are affiliated with organisations such as the Vereniging Schadevoertuighandel (VSV) and the Stichting Verzekeringsbureau Voertuigcriminaliteit (VbV). A large part of their stock comes directly from insurers, so the provenance of the car is known.

Every Audi S5 salvage car on our platform comes with clear photos and extensive specifications. That way you can establish beforehand whether it stays at cosmetic bodywork damage or whether there is more going on, for example in the drivetrain or the roof mechanism.

Would you like to see more? Ask the dealer for images of the engine bay and the floorpan. On a coupé with quattro drive, that shows whether the impact has reached the structural parts.

A transparent, good-value way to buy an Audi S5 salvage car

There is no middleman between you and the dealer, and you notice that in the price and in the pace of the handling. On top of that, you pay considerably less for an S5 with damage than for a comparable example without. What else we offer you:

  • All affiliated companies with their current stock in a single overview
  • Body style, year of manufacture, type of damage and price, easily side by side
  • A purchase that you complete directly with the selling party
  • A full description of the damage for every car, backed up with photos
  • Open to private buyers and to trade buyers

Schadeautos.nl: your complete partner for repairing an Audi S5

With a damage repair, searching for the right parts often takes more time than the work itself. That is why with us it does not stop at the vehicle: you will also find Audi salvage cars and high-quality used car parts for this specific model.

That way, the car and the parts come from the same source. It saves you a round of suppliers and, with the older generations, a long search for parts that are no longer available new.

Do you buy in a professional capacity? Then from a single account you can follow what is coming in and which donor vehicles are ready.

New stock every day & expert service

“Every salvage car dealer on our platform is selected in advance and lists their stock continuously. As a result, the stock on this page refreshes itself: what is not here today may be added tomorrow. With so many body styles under a single model name, their knowledge is also of great value, because they tell you exactly what the damage means for the repair costs and the residual value.”

Buying an Audi S5 salvage car: smart for your budget and for the environment

Repairing a damaged S5 with used parts is good value and a conscious choice at the same time. Putting an existing car back into use takes far fewer raw materials than building a new one.

With a model that has been around for almost twenty years, that counts for extra. Every example that keeps running keeps the supply of usable parts up for all the other S5s on the road. An engine, a roof mechanism or a set of headlights that is still good therefore belongs in another car and not in the shredder. We are glad to support that reuse.

Frequently asked questions about Audi S5 salvage cars

Is there always an Audi S5 in your stock?

No. Our stock comes from our affiliated partners and shifts every day. Save your search or the link to this page and come back from time to time, and you will see it as soon as one is listed.

Which Audi S5 is the most interesting as a salvage car?

That depends on your aim. If you are looking for a donor car, the B9 yields the most sought-after parts. If you want a project car, the early V8 is more attractive, because it is rising in value and remains in demand among enthusiasts.

What does economic total loss mean for an Audi S5?

It means that the insurer puts the repair at more than the car’s market value at the time of the loss. With S-specific parts and matrix headlights, that threshold is reached sooner than with an ordinary A5. It says little about the technical condition; many of these cars can be repaired perfectly well.

Are parts for the Audi S5 readily available?

For the basic mechanicals, yes, because the S5 shares a lot with the A4 and the A5 of the same generation. With S-specific parts such as bumpers, brakes, headlights and interior trim, it is a different story; there, a salvage vehicle from our stock will as a rule get you to the right part the quickest.

Can I export an Audi S5 salvage car?

Yes, as long as you have complete export documents and a full damage history. For Germany, Belgium or Poland you need the full registration document for smooth re-registration. Also check beforehand that there is no block on the vehicle.

Do you offer a warranty on an Audi S5 salvage car?

No. We act as a platform; the sale itself is a matter between you and the partner. You therefore make any warranty arrangements directly with the dealer offering the car.
